The clouds turned into a scary, dull grey and soon the pattering of raindrops could be heard. However, the metallic smell of blood still wafted through the air. I was sitting by a window pane, looking at the remains of buildings and homes. Lifeless bodies could be spotted around them. For some reason death decided to save me for last. It had already taken the lives of the people I love and all of the other innocent people out there. I decided to stay at my position as I would rather wait for death to take my life in order for me to be with my loved ones who are right now in heaven.

I could hear my loud, steady heartbeats echo in my ears. Preparing myself for the worst, I took a deep breath and let it out.It would be the last time I would be able to see the world I lived in.

"Better savour the moment before it is all gone," I thought.

Suddenly, I heard loud footsteps heading my direction. My eyes were squeezed shut as I waited for my end to come. However, it seemed like the person was taunting me. His footsteps could still be heard until something cold and sharp pierced through my chest. My eyes shot open by instinct and I saw a person wearing black from head-to-toe. However, before I could make out more from the masked person, I was engulfed

darkness.

Well I got this from my English file. I remembered that we were supposed to write a paragraph or two on waiting. So I decided to write about me waiting for death. I remembered that I had just started reading The Hunger Games, so yeah I was inspired. Did you get scared while reading this? Well, I did.
